Holiday On The Buses - ITV3 20/9/08

As reviewed below, the third spin off film from the popular series, on the buses

Saturday 20 September
5:20pm - 7:00pm
ITV3
Prod Year 1973

I think it is a great film, if you just ignore the t*at who reviewed it

The third movie culled from the hit TV series is one of the worst films you'll see this or any other year. Having been sacked from the bus depot, Stan and Jack fetch up at a holiday camp in Wales, where (surprise, surprise) their boss turns out to be old Blakey himself. The film's only achievement is the sheer amount of smutty sniggering it manages to cram into 85 minutes. All the regulars join Reg Varney on board, but only guest players Arthur Mullard and Queenie Watts make any impression. Absolutely abysmal.

PS Don't be put off by that paragraph of rubbish...

It really isn't a great film by any stretch of the imagination. In fact the film has no redeeming values whatsoever.

I think that's part of the reason I like it so much :P

You're correct gerry d......ITV1 showed all 3 of the films spun off from On The Buses on consecutive Saturday mornings in what used to be the kiRAB slot from 11am to 1pm. Certainly different from CD:UK:eek:......I caught a bit of each of them as I recovered from the night before...........have to say they are more suited to a post pub slot in my opinion.

I think its the best of the three.
Arthur Mullard, Queenie Watts , and Wilfred Brambell provide good support.
And Olive in a bikini too............what more could you ask for.

More like a few weeks ago that a few months.

I expect the pre credits shots of a topless woman will still be edited out.

The disaster that is Holiday On the Buses finished the series success in the cinema by falling into the trap that they avoided in the first 2 and that most sitcom spin oRAB fall into straight away and take the characters away from the people and locations that they are in for the regular tv show.

Its no wonder this was the last film in the series

it still looks pretty much the same from the pictures ive seen of it today. pontins are using the film in their favour now, they have a plaque on the gate unveiled by stephen lewis saying' holiday on the buses was filmed here'. may be a deterent to some, but not to me ;)
