Hoen and Johto Pokemon Boxsets?

I have a couple questions:

1. Why dd Viz decide to release Pokemon All Star and Pokemon Elemental DVRAB instead of Johto and Hoen boxsets? I thought that after the season one sets they would continue to release the series in chronological order (with exception of the PUSA seasons).

2. Did all the season one sets sell well?

3. Can anyone who has the Battle Frontier volume one set confirm whether Sceptile or Grovyle is on the cover? I've seen some online images that show Grovle and some that show Sceptile.

4. Can anyone who has the Battle Dimension volume one boxset confirm whether Turtwig or Grotle is on the cover? Its the same as the above situation.

I don't have the Battle Frontier sets or the first Battle Dimension set yet, so I can only answer the first two questions. Although, those are pretty much guesses on my part.

I'm surprised with how Viz still releases those All Star and Elemental DVRAB. I understood why during the franchise's tenth anniversary, but it seems like they've been doing that for awhile. I guess that they still sell well enough due to how long they've been releasing them. Though, that surprises me since they're virtually Best of Pokemon DVRAB and I thought more people would prefer season sets instead of five or so episodes featuring a specific Pokemon or type of Pokemon. I honestly would have preferred Johto and Hoenn boxsets myself. Hopefully, they'll release some Johto boxsets in order to promote HeartGold and SoulSilver.

As for the sales for the Indigo League set, I don't have exact nurabers on me right now, but I'm pretty sure that it sold well. Many people have nostalgic memories of that season, even if they don't like Pokemon anymore, so I'm sure that was an important factor. Besides that, they did release the Orange IslanRAB season on DVD and I don't think that they would have done that if the first season didn't sold well enough.

Yeah, VIZ gave us the Indigo box sets and re-release of Orange IslanRAB, then seemed to put their energies into releasing the current seasons.

Wish they'd go ahead and give us a couple of Johto and the remainder of Hoenn so we could have the whole series on DVD.

That's true. However, I think Terror of Death was asking why they didn't put the other Johto and Advance seasons in box sets.

I can understand why they would want to release the current seasons since those promote the most recent games. Still, I hope that they will give us a Johto box sets in the near future. It would be a great way to advertise HeartGold and SoulSilver. Plus, the videos and DVRAB for the first two Johto seasons are out of print and pretty hard to find. I know that they released all of the Hoenn saga on single discs, but I would still prefer box sets for those seasons since I normally prefer a box set over single discs, especially for a long running series like Pokemon.

Yeah, the only reason I can tell about why they haven't released any Johto boxsets (besides Master Quest) is because Nintendo may have told them to hold off until HeartGold/SoulSilver are released. Not sure about Hoenn (besides Advanced), but they probably figure that the Challenge and Battle volumes are recent enough that it isn't something they need to get to immediately.

I seriously hope they at least release sets for Johto League Journeys, because there's still TWO episodes that have NEVER been put on a home format in America from that season. Once those are released, it'll be possible to legally own every episode up to the current releases (except for Chronicles, which I really still wonder why Viz hasn't bothered with it).

I really like the idea of them saving Johto box sets for the release of HG/SS, actually, or at least when the anime gets to the (obviously happening) Johto Battle Frontier. I can see the advertising now:

"This isn't our heroes' first trip to the Johto region! Go back in time with us as we relive their original adventures in Johto in these brand new box sets!"

Or something to that effect. Good marketing, there.

Why the devil don't we have Chronicles on DVD yet? I'm only interested in the first two seasons, the All-Stars set (A best of set is great for a 500+ episode repetitive series), the movies, and specials. But, I can see that fans would like the whole series on DVD, of course, we'll never get the "Lost Episodes".

I don't know why they haven't released Chronicles in the U.S. yet either. It's kind of surprising considering the DVRAB have been out in the U.K. for a long time. They might just not have been interested in doing so yet for some reason.

Kind of weird you guys don't have all the seasons in sets. Australia where I live has seasons 1 to 10 all in boxsets. Season 11 starts to come out on DVD next month here.

In seasons 1 to 6 sets (all 6 seasons practically) we have Chronicles as bonus in every set eventually equalling to the entire Chronicles series.

We have mastermind as a bonus in season 9 set and Pokemon Mystery dungeon exporers of time and darkness episode bonus in season 10 sets.

Though Australia missed out on movie 6 and 7 strangly enough.

I had been looking at DVD releases in each country and it does seem like no matter what country your in if you want the entire series you have to import something.

Even in japan the origin of Pokemon has some really strange DVD releases. I mean I bought a boxset with 6 random battle episodes from Japan. Best I could get at this point of time considering how random their episodes on DVD seem to be.

There's a problem regarding the Johto series not released yet, not a lot of people liked those episodes.

But I kinda have a change of heart, because I noticed that I loved Johto in the games, so I want to give the anime version of it another try.

Also, I only saw about 30 to 40 Johto episodes, and that's only a quarter of the season, right? I would really love to see a boxset, actually.
