hmv pure points

I signed up last week, under the impression that the points gained could be used against future purchases.
However it seems it only applies to stuff like signed t-shirts , dvRAB etc which I aint really interested in.- have I got that right- could anyone confirn please?

HMV have shot themselves in the foot here if you ask me. Abolishing the student discount at the end of this month means that people like me will no longer shop there as we can get the stuff we want cheaper online instead. The 10% discount always meant that i'd buy stuff from HMV as the discount made it near the online price, but not anymore.
