Hmmm Could the Expresso be the new G2!?

Alright this is just a personal theory so no one bash me on this but I think the Expresso is the new G2 or heading somewhere in that direction....Why do I think this you might ask? Well I was reading this article on Phandroid http://phandroid.com/2010/02/08/t-mobile-mytouch-2-new-name-for-htc-espresso/ and I just dont see why TMO would come out with YET another version of the mytouch...First we have the original then the Fender came around and now theres talks of V1.2 and out of no where they are going to come out with another version so soon after the 1.2.. Also, seeing how alot of us G1 users are going to be out of contract in the next 9-10 months, why wouldn't tmobile want to have another similiar phone set up for contract extensions?? Now I know or am pretty sure the picture that phandroid has up is a fake but if it does include the keyboard, the chin, trackball, just don't see why Tmobile wouldn't do it. Sooooo what do you guys think?

i'm almost positive that that picture is fake. the qwerty keyboard doesn't even bend to compensate for the chin on the hero. i've heard rumors about a mytouch with a hard keyboard.. hm, come to think of it, you're right. mt3g, fender edition, mt3g 1.2, and a hard keyboard one? tmo does need to get off of mytouch..

That's a very interesting find, but I doubt they'd call it a G2 for two reasons:

Firstly, the HTC Hero released back in July used the "G2" name on several large networks across the world, including six T-Mobile networks, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-Mobile_G2

Secondly, the G part of G1 stands for "Google", either in relation to the Google branding or in relation to the fact it was the first phone to run Google Android (although I doubt this, as the HTC Hero is called the G2, but the HTC Magic was the 2nd phone to run Android). The Espresso is not the 2nd phone to run Google Android - arguably phones running Android 2.x are, nor is it the 2nd Google branded phone.

I'll be polite, and not bash on anyone.
There will not be any g2's in the States.

Maybe our fellows up North can have the Hero as the g2
But no not really.
The g1 was plain Android.
The Hero is Sense UI.
So following that logic the Cliq would be the g3 since it has blur.

Their ain't gonna be no g2.
not now not ever.

That photo is just a junky winmo phone and a hero put together.

Now that the g2 is here I can go ahead and say I told everyone so and sure its not what some of is expected but hey can't please everyone right...
