I'm pretty sure he's been handed very few decent scripts since then, yes. I'm also pretty sure that he can do better than 'Crank'. It's not like the producers of Children of Men were flying at the guy, but who's to say that he wouldn't have done well given a more serious dramatic role? Of course, with some actors, you can tell, but with him...well, we've only ever seen him play one character...

even though i know it has a lot of potential, the chance of this being a good movie is
with either statham or diesel the movie would have flopped hard, it's better to have an unknown, or at least not extremely popular actor in a spot like this.
diesel? yeah he really made that X movie whatever it was called worth while, and statham is such a physical actor (his action and all) it would have been wasted on a movie based on a game where the character had to show restraint and silence the entire time.

His face is just too soft and doesn't have right aura. Anyone who played Hitman can tell that.
