Hitchcock's North by Northwest

North by Northwest: 5/5

I hadn't seen this film before (well not all the way through) but really glad I did now :)
It's a cracking thriller, with elements of suspense, romance, intrigue and comedy. Really enjoyed it :) Cary Grant is excellent in it (cast against type I believe), as the advertising man mistaken for a spy, forced to go on the run with a blonde woman (Eva Marie Saint). There are some amusing comic scenes like when
Grant goes back to where he was "kidnapped" with his mother and the liquor cabinet has been replaced with a bookshelf :D Or the comedy of errors when he's mistaken for a guy called George Kaplin
:)
Excellent film :D

It's a classic - two of my favourite parts are when Cary Grant is waiting for a bus out in the middle of nowhere and when he's at Martin Landau's house near Mt Rushmore. In fact I've just thought of other scenes I really like - the auction, aboard the train, in the restaurant at Mt Rushmore - well, as I said, a real classic!

I lke the auction too, when Cary Grant is obviously messing up on purpose to get himself arrested :D Eva Marie Saint is excellent too as the icy blonde.
