I stopped at a pedestrian crossing to let a lady and her baby cross when a car hit me from behind. I am guessing she was on a cell phone as there was no screech of brakes or tire marks. Called the police who took a report. The lady that hit me asked me not to contact her insurance company but to get a quote for the damage and she would pay for it. Maintained she could not afford the increased high insurance premium. Turns out she does not own the car and is not insured. Of course she does not have money to pay me either. What are more options here. Any sincere honest help would be greatly appreciated.
Also she has lied on the police report. As she gave the office a policy number that does not exist and a company that she is not insured with. We are in North carolina by the way. Thanks.
I would like to thank the nice, polite people who are giving me some feedback on this question.
As for Mr. Entidtil. Can politeness, respect and good manners be taught?
Obviously not at the school you attended.
I wonder who is giving all the decent answers a thumbs down. Let me guess.
