I was sitting in my house minding my own business when my neighbor knocks on the door and says a kid just hit my SUV in the driveway with his bike. So i go out there and there is a huge foot long scratch (down to the metal) on my fender above my wheel well. So i find the kid and tell him to go get his dad, while i called the police. Well the police said it was a "domestic issue" and just gave me the dads information and left. So i got an estimate $440 my collision deductible is $500 so my insurance wont touch it. Called their insurance, agent said the family had to call in the claim, yeah like that is going to happen. Is there anyway to resolve this with out going to court?
FYI the kid was about 10, and knew better then to be on my property in teh first place, and $440 in a big deal to me and my family. Besides my new car has a big ugly scratch on it now by no fault of my own. I don't think that is fair at all.
