I have this class, and I have homework due tomorrow. I havent recieved my book yet because i ordered it online. The questions are from the textbook a people and a nation. Can anyone help me? Here they are.

1.Generally speaking, what was life like (in all areas) when the Europeans first arrived in 1492?
2. In contrast, what was life like (in all areas) in Africa during this same time period?
3. And, what was life like in general (in all areas) in Europe during the same time period?
4. Describe the first trip Columbus made and what he found upon arrival.
5. Describe the Columbian Exchange from both perspectives.
6. What happened to the Roanoke colony?

when they first arrived in 1492, europeans had to adjust to the land and started to set up private companies to help bring economy to the land. 13 companies invested their money in the "new world", 12 failed and started all over again. life was also trying to start colonies (some for the king, some for religion).

2-africa was dealing with disease and the taking of slaves from both africans and europeans. europeans and african kingdoms had agreements to move slaves to western africa to grow crops and goods because the europeans wanted slaves to not get rusty, they knew slaves were good farmers of land in tropical climate. europeans kept slaves in west africa for 6 months, had them grow goods, then used those goods for the ship ride to the carribean. (food for the ride) south africa was being inhabited by northern europeans due to bribing, north africa was dealing with italy and trading (it was a big kingdom and no slaves came from this region) and east africa was dealing with the sininka and the silent trade)

3-life in europe was harsh this time because the land in europe could not be used more then it already has (the land was neither increasing nor decreasing at this time when it came to making and selling goods).europeans found themselves slowly loosing money and wanted to get areas that were similar to europe (south africa and the americas) so europeans could inhabit other areas and not adjust to a different climate. europeans wanted more bang for there buck and invested in companies such as the dutch east india company to help gain money (went to the americas)

4-columbus used this trip for pure exploration. he wanted to go to india, yet landed in the caribbean. he used the information he got from the area and took it back to the queen and king of spain who funded his trip (isabella did all the funding) he documented his findings, probably killed a few natives and went back home vowing to come back.
