History question on great depression?

Compare the attitude of people towards hobos in the 1930s and the homeless today. Based on what you read and from your experiences to date, do you think they are treated differently today than during the Depression? Explain why or why not. Give an example.

I think alittle more respect is shown to the homeless today but they are still treated like crap. People think it is funny to mock the homeless and video tape them and show all their friends and laugh at it. Seriously people sometimes throw rocks at homeless people or steal their possessions. It is rude but it is still alittle more respectful than during the time of the great depression. Remember grapes of wrath and the oakies?
