...too varied for as level options? Instead of taking government & politics, i was intending to take maths. However, after the induction day/taster lessons, i found i really enjoyed every subject apart from maths. The main reason for choosing maths was because it's a strong qualification to have, rather than because i enjoy the subject.

Also, im considering medicine, although im not entirely sure yet. If i were to pursue this, would these subjects be suitable?

Thanks :)

Government & Politics are kind of a far cry from med school. It won't count against you necessarily, since it shows individuality (sort of, it depends though), but not taking math definitely will. Almost all colleges like students to have foundations in the four core subjects - English/Literature, History, Math, and Science. Chem+Bio are a good choice for Med School, and History and Literature are an obvious given.

Not taking math is kind of a risk though. It doesn't really look good, to take Gov&Pol instead of math, particularly since it's considered a more specific-study course - something that you have plenty of time to specialize in later in college. Also, math will really help you with chem, so I wouldn't rule it out entirely.

My suggestion would be to take math if you're really intent on med school; it's a LOT better. But, if you're considering anything on the social science-y side, this is a good selection. (but if you're going for anything to do with the hard sciences, even with biology, math is a better choice). Basically - unless if you plan on studying social sciences, math is the better selection to make. =\ If you don't really hate it, it's better to just work your way through it and save the good stuff for higher-level education. =]
