HISTORY HOMEWORK HELP PLEASE!!!?

My class isn't too smart so my teacher gave us all a take home test so we could all get a passing grade. The test is all about the U.S Constitution, and we have to tell whether or not the statement is true or false and then prove it by finding the section and clause and listing them for example 3.1 (section 3, clause 1) My only problem is is that i do not know what a clause is. My teacher told us to use our books but in the book everything is written in paragraphs and are crossed out.

A clause in the case of the constitution means the paragraph or idea, so like the 1st paragraph, i think, Due to the fact that grammar back then differs from now,that's an educated guess
