Theodore Roosevelt referred to the White House as “bully-pulpit.” Discuss the meaning of this phrase in terms of contemporary politics and current issues.

Roosevelt used the phrase to mean that he held an office that afforded him the ability to speak his mind and have people listen (and write it down). "Bully" meant "excellent, superb."Do you think that the current occupant of the White House might take advantage of that venue to influence current thinking on current issues? How has he done it so far? What do you anticipate to come from the White House on current issues such as unemployment, economic stimulus, energy, national resources, military actions, making friends in the world, and so on?
