How did the Tukogawa shogunate change Japan?

They encouraged open trade.

They established communism.

They made Japan imperialist.

They restricted immigration.

they encouraged open trade because Japan was in the policy of isolating itself, and when the Tokugawa shogunate took power, they encouraged open trade between differed clans; also communism wasn't though of until 1800's by karl marx; Japan was not an imperial power until the 1930s and Japan did not restrict immigration in its earlier history, so open trade is the only logical answer
