History Essay Question?

There were several developments in the late 18th through the 19th century which had a direct impact on the 20th and into the 21st centuries. Choose one from the following list and in a 3-5 page essay, discuss its impact on the modern world:

-French Revolution
-New imperialism
-Industrial Revolution
-Rise of nationalism

Focus on either the political, economic, OR social changes that came from any ONE of these developments and how those changes contributed to the contemporary western world. You might want to think in terms of the roots of these developments when you consider their ultimate impact on the modern world. You must use specific evidence and examples from the course materials to support your analysis. There is no right or wrong answer, only the strength of your discussion!

if u do the french rev u can talk about either one of the subtopics.
with in poltical- how there was a change in goverment and how from monarchial it went to a democracy in that you can say how it was king louis (cant remember which one but i think 14th) decisions that lead to the change.

in economical- France was in debt very badly, there were monopolies being handed out and pretty much all the money was going into war and taxes were rising but taxes werent reaching the goverment because the tax collecters were corrupt. (I would do this one it would have the most dept)

in social changes-The nobility was kicked out pretty much and revolounist came to be popular among people and they became powerful
