Only the Scientific Revolution lol. He lived in Italy which was the epicenter of cultural/social change in Europe at that time.

It coincided with the Renaissance, a time of significant cultural change. It was inspired by classical sources, the Greeks and Romans, whom studied science, philosophy and the arts. With this, those exact subjects flourished through Italy and then the rest of Europe. The new view of humanism developed from the Renaissance. The arts, humanism and sciences mingled with each other and each helped develop the other.

There was Alot, going on in Galileo's time. lol
