Hiring a Sales Folks with barely any money in the bank?

I have a business idea and its centered around the belief that it'll be successful if I'm able to ensure steady sales of my product(s). But as a startup, I might only have access to $40,000. So is it wrong to hire a Salesman, tell him his Base is $50,000/yr, but he has a $5,000/mo quota to meet and if its not obtained each month, he/she is fired?

Obviously I don't have the money to cover their salary for the whole year. But if they don't perform, they are fired and I don't have to worry about a year's worth of salary. Whereas if they do meet their quota, then I'm netting $60,000/yr and paying them $50,000/yr. Does that sound plausible? Can I get away with it? Or does it seem immoral?
