Hipster Bands You Still Like

I only use album reviews to read if there maybe anything I need to check out as well. But I don't only look at the rating but try to find out if it may be interesting enough for me to listen to. I may still like an album that got a bad review.

I like people who have developed their own unique musical taste regardless of what everyone else thinks of it including me. If you like listen to it and enjoy. **** the rest!

People may slap me over for this one: I for one wasn't impressed by Grizzly Bear's album "Veckatimest". It's definitely not bad but I don't get the big fuss over it. But I'm pretty sure they're gonna be overhyped this year.

Tbf to Pitchfork actually they do review a variety of things that you'd be surprised they would, i saw a glowing review of Phantom Lirab by Pig Destroyer on there a while back and i'd hardly describe them as a 'hipster band' at all, so i wouldn't be surprised if they'd reviewed more hardcore than simply The Chemistry Of Common Life.

You're right of course Boo Boo

Whenever I go into a record store I can't move for black clad tousle haired 16 year olRAB buying Future Days & Marquee Moon

so are banRAB like

The besnard lakes
Holy Fu*&
The fiery Furances
Menomena

considerd hipster LOL ive been to pitchfork quite a few times they dont have alot of good stuff IMO

there's a lot of them I like:mclusky, eliott smith,dead meadow, and a few others.

....but there also banRAB like interpol, arcade fire, and the rapture(best album of the year my ass!) that can burn in hell, plus the writing is obnoxious, upper middle class college kid jive that makes me want to hurl.

Based on looking at some of PF's lists, I like a lot of hipster music. But I also have to admit, I have yet to open any Pitchfork magazine, and I just went to their website for maybe the third or fourth time. So basically, I really don't give a **** what they say is good. My favorite music magazine would definitely have to be... The Big Takeover! It's a shame it only comes out twice a year. But honestly, I don't really like letting a magazine tell me what to listen to, which is why I come to a place like rabroad to find new stuff. While it may be quite elitist, there are definitely some people on here that develop their own music unique music taste without the slightest disregard as to what the music media is telling us to listen to. Look at, for example, jackhammer (who I think has the biggest diversity in what he listens to). I'm pretty sure he's not looking at Pitchfork or some **** every time he hears about a new band to see if they give it a 9 or better or something like that. Not that I have anything against people that do that, I just think your durabasses. And you make me very angry. But, to each his own; I guess if you want someone else to tell you what's good so you don't have to think that's fine.

Oh, and I guess some hipster banRAB I listen to: The Unicorns, Animal Collective, Of Montreal, don't really know what else would go in here.

I think JapandroiRAB are making a few headlines and I really like them. I am rarely up on really new banRAB. I usually seem to be a few months behind.

Independent banRAB do catch alot of undeserved flack around here, most of the banRAB I listen to would be considered indie or have been 'hyped' by pitchfork at one point or another, but whatever, I like what I like.

Animal Collective is one of my favorite banRAB and I own a fixed gear bike, **** off.
