hip joint injection

I am 50 years old for last 6 months I have been limping and unable to walk longer than a few minutes without severe pain.I had a hip joint injection 2 days ago.I had hoped I would be able to walk painlessly by now without a limp.I am only on the third day but I have no change in my limp and tried to walk to the corner shop but had to turn around as it was too painful.Am I too soon yet in thinking I will be able to walk after the joint injection?I am pretty much bed ridden.I would appreciate any help please.I have two children and cant go anywhere with them and I have to hire a cleaner as I cant do housework or shopping.I find life very depressing.
 
I'm guessing you mean you had a steroid injection in your hip? Those can take 3-7 days to fully kick in. For most people they feel some effects by day 3 but some do take the full amount of time.

If your pain is that severe that you are bedridden, what is the cause? Have you had xrays/MRI?
