hiking/trails in long beach, CA?

Like the other people have said Long Beach has the bike path along the beach and the Nature Center and not much else. Signal Hill has a very short path you can walk around at Hilltop Park. From up there you can see the ocean, mountains and the city. When it's very clear out you can see the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.

I would suggest you go hiking in Palos Verdes or Crystal Cove, both are very scenic and easy to walk.

There isn't much in the way of hiking, in Long Beach (Long Beach is pretty flat)... But there are a few nature trails that you can walk. The site below lists several of them. The most well known/well travelled, being the El Dorado Nature Center

Actually in Long Beach there really is no hiking trails. It's a pretty populated area. You can walk the bike path on the beach. Or there is also the Nature Center at the park. To really go hiking, the closest places would be Whittier area, Santiago Canyon, Newport Bay or farther south like Crystal Cove.
