Hiking and outdoor exploring near Montreal, QC?

I have recently moved to Montreal, and I want to do some hiking this weekend. Are there any forests near by, or nice outdoor areas to hike and fish, or really just do any outdoor exploring? And I dont mean little parks in the city, I want deep woods, far from civilization.
Thank you for your answer Flower's, but Parc du Mont Royal is not deep woods. I walk my dog every day at Mont Royal. I am looking for somewhere that can be reached by a dirt road. I am looking for a place that is miles from the nearest gas station. Know what I mean?
 
we have deep woods in the middle of the city,do you know about MontRoyal park? it's the hill in the middle of the city ,for fish you can go to parc nature ile-de-la-visitation...there is a lot to discover around Montreal.
