Hiking and Camping Alone as a Young Female?

I would want to go camping and hiking during my vacation. Unfortunately, I could not get anyone to come with me. I don't have a dog myself but I could borrow one or two of my parents dogs' (labs). I'm in southern California but willing to travel to any nearby states. Anyone knows any good and safe places with that's very scenic and have some good wildlife for me to go camp for about a week. I prefer not have my nude body found strung up with my own entrails by a ranger some weeks later. Any good tips would be appreciated.
