why is it that when i get to highway speeds my 06 c50 boulevard vibrates ? does it need a valve adjustment? i know its not wheel balance because when i run it in neutral it feels smooth.

Tell us more about your riding history and what YOU consider "highway speeds".

V-twin bikes DO vibrate; some more than others even within a model.

It is impossible to tell you if what you are feeling is "normal" or not without being there.

If it is "due" for a valve check......or you just want re-assurance on the vibration thing.....then take it in for service.

Welcome to the forum.

All bikes vibrate and V-twins a little more than the 4's. There is usually a sweet spot where most bikes vibrate worse. You do need to describe the vibration a bit more though. It is the entire bike, the handle bars, is it more of a shake, what speeds is it at? I don't have an M50, but some one here sais it does vibrate at highway speed. I am sure the M50 riders will be along to help more.

it starts to vibrate at about 50 mph, seems like it really needs a sixth gear. the bike has about 3500 miles on it maybe its not broken in yet hard to tell being this is my first bike!

Every engine has a resonant frequency range at which standing waves develop. Mine buzzes pretty strongly at around 4,000 rpm, but gets glassy smooth at 4,600. Without a baseline it's pretty tough to tell from here whether there's a problem. Valve adjustments and carb/throttle body syncing can dramatically help, but only if they're in need.

What kind of vibration? Engine, whole bike, tire wobble? My 05 M50 is pretty smooth the whole speed spectrum it has. Now when I got new tires put on last year, I had a severe front end wobble over 40. That turned out to be the stearing head bearings had to be retorqued. Having said that the new tires still give me front end wobble at higher speeds if I take one hand off the bars, but that is due to the tread pattern and the groves worn in the roads around here. I also drilled holes in my muffler back plates, made it a little rougher if I goose it, but once I got used to it the added vibration is fairly steady through the power curve.

How many miles on your bike? Iwouldn't think your valves would be that far off with out your hearing them.

vibration, i have a boulevard c 109 and i have a vibration problem like you but mine is more noticible in 4+5 gears. imlooking at balence of shaft + gear box. sorry dont have answer tet but when i do i will try to yet you know . PS dearler or suziki dont want to help. thank you suziki i dont think so.regards focus

i had the same problem , low air presure in both front and back tires, i added 32 pounds of presure for the front tire and 36 for the rear, this corrected my problem.

V Twin Engines have an inherent vibration. The nature of the beast. The longer the stroke and the bigger the engine the more it tends to vibrate.
Especially at low RPM on the bigger engine when it is lugging a little.
Pull up next to a non rubber mounted Harley if you want to see vibration.

The C50/M50 seem should be more "buzzy" than vibration and seems to smooth out some between 70-85 but it will still be buzzy. The feeling that you need a 6th gear you will get used to but don't be surprised if you keep looking for it while shifting.
