High School Musical's Zach Effron in talks to star in "Full Metal Panic" adaptation.

Full Metal Panic would have to be castrated to make it more appealing to Hollywood studio executives and what they think American audiences want.

The anime and manga and novels have some very dark, dreary, and grim aspects even though there are comedic parts as well.

A Hollywood version would basically amount to a teenage version of THE PACIFIER.

As if anyone would expect it in America to be anything more the dramatic side of FMP than the Fumoffu side. Heck, the Fumoffu content would adapt easily, and probably make a fun little film.

Trying to cram the big story of FMP into any film adaption would probably be questionable if not bad idea on either side of the pacific.

Then its basically a pointless attempt and there's no reason to call it Full Metal Panic.

Fumoffu was only just one part of the story and part of the icing.

I think with a competent director and respect for the source, the first half of Season 1 would make a pretty entertaining movie. The whole "is he just a geek?" angle would be interesting.

Of course, any final product will have neither of those things and will be a horrific failure.
