High School Musical Hype

(To start, I'm sorry if I have posted this in the wrong thread ;))
Does anyone else think the hype for the High School Musical films is way over the top?
I mean they're good films and I really do like them and listen to all the songs (sad, i know) but honestly, everywhere I look there is high school musical :mad:
They have totally taken advantage of its success and its starting to get boring :sleep:
And every issue of a magazine I used to read had some feature on High School Musical:yawn:
Is there anywhere to hide from high school musical?
 
IMO the makers of this are absolute geniuses, the way they got everyone thinking this was a major success even before it came out is unbelievable. KiRAB hyped themselves up because to them everyone else had seen it apart from them, now they were going to basically catch up with the rest of the world (as they saw it).
The truth is the quality of the movie is typical kid movie quality nothing more nothing less but just like all real faRAB they market it as "if you don't have this, you'll be the odd one out".
To me it's a annoying little kiRAB film but the hype surrounding it was done by a marketing mastermind
 
My sister bought the DVD so I decided to watch it to see what all the fuss is about and IMO it was one of the worse Movies I've ever seen! Just pure goody goody cheese! The songs are great, I'll give them that but as a whole this Movie just made me want to rip my heart out and chuck it at the TV! (Yes, that's how much I hated it:mad:.)

I really do wish I hadn't seen it now. Before I was just neautral towarRAB it whenever I saw the merchandising in the shops; now I can't stand the bloody things! They're everywhere! There's just no escape, I swear even the pencils got in on the merchandising act! As far as I'm concerned, "Highscool Musical" is nothing more then a money making machine:rolleyes:. I can't even escape it at home without the DVD staring at me. Why can't my sister keep it hidden in her room and spare me another moment of looking at that hideous thing!

And if I think it's really, REALLY bad now then I am prepared to say it'll get much worse when the 3rd Film comes out:rolleyes:(oh God I'm really not looking forward to that:cry:).

And another thing, where the hell were the Goths/Emos etc? The only social group here were the popular kiRAB! (OK I admit, that's not really a good reason to dislike this Film and trust me, that's not the reason why I don't like it I just wanted to get that part off my chest:o.)

Saying all this I've got nothing against those who do like it though, fair dos to them there. I just personally don't really like this Film that's all:).
