High school graduation project ideas dealing with fashion photography/photography?

I am a junior in high school and it is required that I produce some kind of project that shows my mastery in a subject of my choice. I have to write a 6-8 page report and have a visual. My idea is to get a group of girls from my school, put them in some high fashion clothing, makeup, ect and create a portfolio showing my work. My questions...
-what do I write my report on
-is this even an acceptable idea for a graduation project
-any suggestions?
