High Fever

My 22 year old son is refusing to go to the ER becuase he has no health insurance and is paying off $3,000 from his last ER visit. I don't know what to do. He has been running fevers as high as 104 and vomiting since Sunday morning. I happen to have urine test strips from my daughter (who has Luekemia) and decided to check his urine and it came out with large amount of blood, Ketone and protien. He has no pain urinating so I don't think it's a UTI. I also have a glucose meter of my daughter's and checked his glucose and it was fine. Does anyone have any input? By the way he had MRSA infection about 3 weeks ago. But that has cleared up with antibiotics. Thanks

Perhaps there is a clinic he could go to, instead of the ER? It wouldn't cost much, and he could get this looked at before it becomes more serious. If the MRSA is back, he needs to know now.

There is a disease around here known as babesiosis which causes high fever and bloody urine. Two of my relatives have had it. Babesiosis is extremely rare outside the Northeast, but I think malaria is very similar.
