High End Android Phone on a Family Plan

Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint have good coverage in my area. Here is my problem:

Verizon -- I could get the Incredible or the upcoming Droid, but there is the $10 fee for a paltry 25MB of data on the kinds of phones that others on my family plan would like to get.

Sprint -- I would love to get the Evo 4G, but the only family plan that it is "compatible" with is a family plan that has more minutes than we need and unlimited data and text messaging that some of us will not use.

AT&T -- We currently have AT&T and I'd rather not give up the $15/month smartphone data, but AT&T will simply not release any high end, unadulterated Android phones.

Am I out of luck or is there something that I have overlooked?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You can upgrade to an iPhone, and flip it and buy the Nexus1. You'll pay a bit more, but get the high-end phone you want.
