Hi I've always been into the military since 13 yrs old. I only have HS-DP & part time in City College. Do I need a AB or BA degree to be a U.S.military officer? And is it true that the Naval Academy is easy? Thank you!
To g-unit,

Are you a officer or enlisted rank? What's wrong being a officer? I believe is better to be a officer because you will not get mistreated & get more respect & get paid more.

To tell you the truth you don't want to be an officer. Maybe you do but i don't. They just make plans, enlistees put the plan into action. Im already going to be a airline pilot when i leave the navy. And you need a 4 year BA. And no the Naval academy is the most rigorous college there is.

You need a BA, or BS, preferably in something the military would consider to be useful, not something like philosophy, etc.

You also need to meet the age/citizenship/selecton criteria of the service you are interested in.

No, The Naval Academy is NOT easy.

You need a bachelors degree to be an officer. You can either do ROTC in college and then commission, or get your degree and then go to OCS. ROTC scholarships are for high school graduates with competitive GPA's. OCS is for college graduates with competitive (minimum 3.0) GPA's. The Naval Academy is highly competitive. You need not only exceptional grades, but you need to demonstrate that you are living an exemplary life. So the preliminary questions for you would be, what are your grades and do you have legal or financial problems. If your grades are good, applying to and being accepted by a 4-year college/university would be the way to go, then you can apply for ROTC.

Officers need Degrees,
Army officers best bet would be west point or ROTC.
Annapolis(Naval Academy) is highly competitive on acceptance and academics, leadership, and athletics as well as well-rounded people who have top scores in all this are primarily accepted. This goes for ALL military Academies, (5 in total)
West point(army)
Air Force Academy
Annapolis(NA)
Marine Academy
THe top 4 branches also have rotc(not sure about CGA) so if you can't get accepted than ROTC or OTS which is Officer training school, those are your 3 options, no other exists.
Coast Guard Academy

the U.S. military smiles upon technical degrees, especially for an officer position engineering and sciences are good choices, good thing is that when your done with the military you can get a good job.

But you can take history and be fine, There are air force pilots up there with history majors and foreign language majors.

Do something your interested in and will have a good chance of career possibilities when you leave. Go to goarmy.com or military college sites/rotc sites to gain more info and start thinking of what you will do.
