Hi everyone; nice looking informative forums. Glad to be aboard.

I'm gonna be 74 in January and took my first day of M/C training 9/1/05. I bought a Suzuki GS500F and rode if for about 5,000 KM but couldn't stand the riding position. I took a beating on a trade for a new 2006 Boulevard M50 Cruiser and since 2/24/2006 have put on 34,600+ KM. My front tire still looks new and the rear, although looking a little slick on the flatter parts of the bottom, still haven't shown the wear marker. Yet, I see people talking of getting 14,000 miles or so and being thrilled, so I don't know what I'm doing right but I'm loving it.

I ride year round, do my own simple maintenance, like oil and filter changes, spark plugs. I've got the Manual and ant to learn other things because the dealers are all such ripoffs and being retired and not rich means I need to get clever. Cheers all.:mrgreen:

Wow that is great to see.
All the best.
I recently purchased a new C50 and loving it.
Will be going for a long ride during Feb 2008 and there after.

That's great to hear. Being a little older than the average biker myself, your story is very encouraging.

I bet Vancouver is a great place to ride. Last summer I spent a week on vacation in the Kootenay Rockies and someday would like to go back there with my motorcycle. Some nice roads.

:welcomes: to the forum, Great to hear age is not slowing you down, gives the rest of us hope LOL. A friend and I went to Prince George from Edmonton alberta July of 07 and it was a great trip. We are plannig to go to Victoria summer 08 if all goes well. Maybe we will see you on the road.

There are a few of us from the lower mainland, although I have not heard from them lately.
There is a thread in Cruisers, that we use.
Atlas68 rides an M50, we have ridden together.

I still had tread left when I had the tires changed. I changed both as I was not willing to pay the price up here for the IRC's. I went with Bridgestone, but if I had to do over I would head south for the IRC's.

Don't push that rear as a panic stop may bite you in the butt.
Your front is good for 2 rears.

Ride safe.
Bob
