Hi everyone; nice looking informative forums. Glad to be aboard.
I'm gonna be 74 in January and took my first day of M/C training 9/1/05. I bought a Suzuki GS500F and rode if for about 5,000 KM but couldn't stand the riding position. I took a beating on a trade for a new 2006 Boulevard M50 Cruiser and since 2/24/2006 have put on 34,600+ KM. My front tire still looks new and the rear, although looking a little slick on the flatter parts of the bottom, still haven't shown the wear marker. Yet, I see people talking of getting 14,000 miles or so and being thrilled, so I don't know what I'm doing right but I'm loving it.
I ride year round, do my own simple maintenance, like oil and filter changes, spark plugs. I've got the Manual and ant to learn other things because the dealers are all such ripoffs and being retired and not rich means I need to get clever. Cheers all.
