Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I need to replace a tail light on

Alright. First off may I ask which brand of clear you went with? If you bought it from Clear Alternatives, good luck. The quality of these tail lights are crappy to say the least. I have had 3 on mine. The third one works ok. Many other 9'ers have had 4-5 and just gave up. You will become a pro if the tail light is CA.

Ok, now that the warning is over. Pop the rear cowl or seat off. Remove the four allan head bolts under the seat. Look under the fender and remove the two screws from the underside. Pull the tail off. You will now be able to take the light out and replace it with the aftermarket one.

Also, M109Riders.com has plenty of useful info specifically for this bike.

Hi. Everything is in place but the 2 yellow wires that come w/ the new tail light, also came w/ 2 white pieces called resistors. Do I need to conect these resistors to the wires that come from the rear signal light or not? I'm little confused on how to conect them.
Thanks.

if you are removing your turn signals, then yes. You will want to use the resistors to make the tail light-turn signals flash at the same rate as the fronts. I have not removed the stock turn signals and did not use the resistors. it is up to you.

If you use them, follow the provided directions from CA.
