Hi Everyone... I already have a problem...

First post, just wanted to say hi to all of you... Ive been reading this forum religiously for the past week as I just got myself a 6700 and flashed it for Cricket. First phone ive ever modded in any way, so its been fun...

But, I have 3 issues I just cant seem to figure out for the life of me...

1: I got rid of the annoying "SMS Sent" popup, but now I get a NEW TEXT telling me that my message was sent. It isnt a pop-up, but it actually goes into my inbox EVERY time I send a message... If anyone knows how to stop this, I would love you!

2: Ive tried, tried, tried some more, and tried again to get MMS working, and Ive failed. Hard.
I have Arcsoft, Ive tried all of the settings I can think of, tried using different connections, all kinRAB of stuff, with absolutely zero luck. I'm in Phoenix, if it makes a difference.

3: Having said I am in Phoenix, I have heard some people say that EVDO is available here now, and others say it isn't. Yay or nay? I'd love to get more than 1kbps internet speed, but maybe I am just out of luck.

I appreciate all of the information I've gotten from here... Not only did you guys show me how to make the phone work (the Sprint PPC 6700, not the VX), but Ive managed to upgrade to WM6, and I know how to regedit, install and remove apps, and all kinRAB of stuff now!

Alright... The first trick worked!! Thank you!

The third one didnt... So I guess no EVDO for me. :(

And I just checked out that thread, changed all the settings (mine were WAY different, with stuff for alltell and stuff in there?!), but still no go... :(

Not to stray off topic, and I know this has been asked, because I have seen a few variants, but... Is there a better phone that works with cricket? Preferably an HTC, I love some of their new phones... I am doing a website in trade for a brand new phone in 2 weeks and I'm not sure what to ask for...

Also, any other hints on the MMS would be great, but Im really losing hope on it...
 
I hate to ask this, but does your plan even have MMS? And if so, have you asked Cricket to reset/refresh your account?

Also, what version of ArcSoft MMS composer are you using?

Not to split hairs, but the 6700 IS an HTC phone! ;) However, if you want style over function, go for the Touch. Otherwise, get the Mogul/6800.
 
lol, 3.0.26 I believe, and yea, I do have MMS. I used to use it all the time with my old cricket phone as well. I did call them, and they've reset me twice.

And I knew it was an HTC so :-P, but I guess I didn't really say it how I meant it...

I meant that I would like to stick with HTC, but I was wondering what a more up-to-date and more capable phone from HTC was, that had full functionality with Cricket, if any. Basically, does everything on the 6800 work with Cricket? Or, the Touch 2? That's one sexy phone! :)
 
Are you running a Sprint ROM? Those are known to cause conflicts with MMS.

What's the exact MMS problem you're having (can't send, can't receive, can't send or receive, error messages, etc...)?
 
Yea, I have the Sprint rom as far as I know... I kinda dived into this whole phone thing head first, but I used the "Helmi_c WM6 kitchen", and selected... Hmm... What did I choose...

When I was building the ROM, it would only let me choose Sprint I believe... When I tried "Generic" it told me that there was a Country Code error of some sort, error #120 or something, whatever that means... So I tried the Sprint ROM and it worked...

I can't send, receive, anything to do with MMS.

I would be all for different software if it will help my cause, I just liked the interface and programs that came with that Kitchen, quite a few cool like programs and utilities.
