Hi let me say that I work restaurant for 10 yrs in the front of the house as a host,food runner,buss boy, & server assistant. I've been working for the company for 6 yrs now & I was a former certified trainer for 2 yrs & 4 yrs as a safety committee. In the end of April 2010, I ask my boss (front of the house) if I could work in the kitchen as a Quality Insurance or Q.A. & wanted to try something different. I always like being a QA & being doing this for 5 months.
One day, my sous chef he sat down with me in private & wanted me to try out the fried & broil. That he personally going to trained me instead of certified trainers & will also give me extra $3 on my salary. I usually work as a QA only in Wed & Thur since I'm a server on Fri,Sat, & Sun. My sous chef he wanted me to be a QA on Sat & Sun instead of Wed & Thur for he could trained me & except his "promise offer". If the position was not for me, he quote & promise me that he has no problem to move me back to Wed & Thur. It has been "6 weeks" over due that he has NOT trained me in the fried & broil. I ask him "Hey sous chef when are you going to trained me?" He said "Not when is busy bud". As matter of fact, it's impossible for him to trained me on Sat & Sun because the weekends is the most busy days. I talk to my front of the house boss about the problem & he says that I'm right & right to be upset. Because promise is a promise & he also said that he lacks of Communication.
Today, I sat down with my sous chef that I wanted to be a QA back on Wed & Thur because I get more tips on weekends & their way too many staff that I have nothing to do except prep,make bread, & sometimes wash....dishes. He said he can't move me back on Wed & Thur because he is going to hire a new QA & he also said that I'm not giving him a chance. He also promise me again that he is going to schedule me with a certified trainer. I realize that he is a liar,brakes promises, & a Mr.Macho. What is your opinion of this? Thank you.
