Hey Ray,
First of all congratulations on attempting to dump the cigarettes! :bouncing: Hang in there, my Mom quit after smoking for 55 years, cold turkey! I hope the injection helps with your pain. How is the new pain med working??

Was first intrigued when you mentioned you were taking a "new" pain killer called Tradol. But upon further investigation online, I discovered that Tradol is simply another brand name for Tramadol...which is what I've been on for 3 months. Be careful with it...it's highly addictive! I'm sure that is why your doc is only prescribing them for 3 weeks. I really don't want to stay on it long-term, so it's gonna be a b!tch getting off of them, for me. I'm only taking 50mg per day, too...can't really wean down from that, unless I cut the pill in half.

Congradulations on trying to quit smoking! That might actually help you feel better, too with your spine and in general. Are you still having alot of pain from the epidural? Or are you finding any pain relief from it?

I have found Tramadol very easy to come off of when your pain has abated.I took anywhere from 50mg to 150 mg per day,but often skipped days! Try tapering by using only every other day for a week.At 50mg you really are home free. And,my brother is a sports surgeon and he feels Tramadol is barely a real "opiod".All the best.

Congratulations on giving up smoking...I gave it up last June...hard to do..but wow...the worst part for me was the cost of the ciggies!! (Think about saving the same amount every day...it adRAB up...you can do something nice when you are feeling better!!) Good for you.!!!!
