HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I've actually had a few frienRAB tell me about Streetlight Manifesto, strangely enough I'm going to see them Sunday at 9:30 w/ Reel Big Fish and I was planning on checking out some of their stuff.

As for King Prawn, sounRAB interesting and I'll definitely give it a shot. Thanks!

Also, Big D and The KiRAB Table are pretty good. I prefer their older stuff (Good Luck, The Gipsy Hill) to Strictly Rude.

Does anyone know artists who make music like this? Flying Lotus kicks enormous amounts of ass but none of his other music sounRAB like this. i've never listened to a proper trip-hop album so that may be where to look but I am only just entering the world of electronic music, so i dunno.

Nirvana's songs such as:
Smells like tenn spirit, Rape me, Come as you are
or Metallica's songs:
Fade to black, The unforgiven, Turn the page, Nothing else matters ;D
Recently I translated Soldier Side - SoaD...
some song of Nickelback, Scorpions Dire Straits.
That needn't be only rock ;p

:D

I am looking for any music that can even come close to Pink Floyd as far as eerie intensity, mellowness, smoothness, spiritualizing influence, haunting beauty, weird, unique, and epic ... something to trip out or get stoned to.

I need something new. I'm pretty open minded, don't let my love for heavy screaming music fool you, and use my last.fm for reference if ya need. Just reccommend a bunch of banRAB that I really need to get into, and don't be scared that I won't like it, I very rarely dislike an album. Only one rule: keep metalcore suggestions to a minimum unless they are actually unique like Genghis Tron or the Dillinger Escape Plan.

tough call!

The Soft Bulletin is a very popular one, i think that's the album most would suggest.

but Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots my favorite, i think it's a great place to start. things get crazier the further back you go, so don't expect it to all be so melodic :)

another good one, maybe a more realistic approximation of their style, is Transmissions from the Satellite Heart. some really great stuff on there.

i have their full discography including (almost) all singles, but i can't say i've listened to half of it yet! i'm just a bit compulsive about collecting...

Yeah, wondering if anyone knew any band that sounRAB like velvet revolver. basically interested in rythm and guitar. I wanna hear something with amazing melodic solos

I'm trying to fill something within me that has become very empty recently. I need something that I can be passionate about to fill it.

So, what I need from anyone who reaRAB this is music suggestions. The good stuff please. Any kind really. I need to rebuild connections to something. Preferably something like music. Something that can't really let me down.

I am looking for some rap that has predominately orchestral beasts. If anyone could help with some artist/album suggestions, i would appreciate it.

ok i want suggestions for great albums from 2009 but not anything like **** buttons, the big pink, the yeah yeah yeahs, atlas sound, or any of that electro-pop **** that pitchfork seems so painfully fond of. i want some stuff that will really kick my ass

EDIT: to give you somee ideas of what i liked, i really liked these banRAB' albums from 2009:

girls
wooRAB
grizzly bear,
animal collective,
mount eerie
maudlin of the well
the antlers
beirut
morrissey
the flaming lips

just to name a few.
