HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I need some suggestions on different rock songs that starts anticipating and slightly low key and then explodes - kind of like Blur's "Song 2", Jet's "Are you gonna be my girl" etc.

Hope you can help....

I'm gonna take so much heat for this but I personally believe that one of the best harmonicists (is that a word?) isn't Bob Dylan or other traditional folk/blues artists but Robert Plant. His harmonica on plenty of Led Zeppelin's old stuff is simply superb. He doesn't draw on technical experience, but feeRAB off emotion.

When the Levee Breaks, man.

ofOrdinary;933408']rabroad,

I am about to make a mix cd that I can take to work to give to one of my co-workers. I have been able in the past to make some headway with his musical "tastes" but I really want to seal the deal.

Typically he listens to rap/rock but I want to make sure I never have to listen to Nickleback or Limp Bizkit again while we ride around between job sites.

Currently I have already introduced and succesfully (to my suprise) gotten him to enjoy the following:

Coheed and Carabria, Avenged Sevenfold, 30 SeconRAB to Mars, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle.

I'm looking to even further his exposure to what I consider real music.

On the line up so far for the CD mix is:

Red, 10 Years, Hurt

He seemed to take the best liking to Breaking Benjamin and Avenged Sevenfold and I've failed him with My Chemical Romance and The Used so can anyone here recommend so tunes that incorporate the "metal" sound with advanced techniques such as orchestra, limited screaming, etc.

Any suggestions are welcome :) Even those who are going to flame my music tastes that I have mentioned. Thank you in advance for at least reading and if you comment you're even cooler in my book. I will be checking back often as I only have a few hours left in the day to burn this CD before work...

Just when you said 'I don't like any of those banRAB' I thought you were referring to the electronic artists when you most likely wouldn't have had a chance to listen to enough of the banRAB I listed to get a good grasp of them, and thought you were saying you didn't like them despite not listening to them... apologies

Hi all,
I love those classical disco music in which a piano is playing very fast, can you tell me what is the style of such music? and can you please name some of these kind of music and if you know any link to download I am appreciate it :)

thanks

The first one you'll definatley love if you haven't chacked them out yet, the second are pretty screamy, and the last are an amzing folk group.

I haven't heard much of this kind of music...but I'm thinking you might like MGMT. One of their songs I hear all the time lately is Electric Feel. There's another one out there but I don't know the title.

how are we supposed to know what you find boring?

judging from the music you listen to now, i can't think of anything i could suggest you wouldn't find boring

therefore my advice is to just look up banRAB & request specific albums/banRAB based on what you think you may like

Yann Tiersen - Comptine D'un Autre EteL'apres Midi
Pain of Salvation - Pluvius Aestivus

I recommend these for the above poster. Tiersen has more like it, Pain of Salvation not really.

Would've posted links but I'm too new here. Sorry.

here are some albums i would suggest.

Arcade Fire - Funeral

Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

Pixies - Doolittle (is this considered indie?) even if it isn't, its brilliant.

Radiohead - Amnesiac

enjoy! PM me if u need them.

Hey, I'm a fan of hip-hop but I noticed that most of the hip-hop I do have is from (at least) 5 years ago. If any of you have any suggestions for newer groups or emcees, I'd be grateful. I'm into the more underground/ old school style of hip-hop, Pete Rock & C.L., The Roots but I'm also into stuff like Doctor Octagon and DEltron 3030. Again, any suggestions would be great, thanks.
