HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

for Patton I have to say Faith No More, "Angel Dust". The song "Land of Sunshine" will be stuck in your head for a week I think. However, Mr. Bungle "California" is my favorite. Save Fantomas and Tomahawk for the last so you have an open mind.

Thanks. Never heard of Chevelle (i'll check it out), but I like the other 3.

Also, are there any good alternative/indie compilations lying around? I'm afraid to download any mixtapes for fear of coming into contact with metal or electronic or other weird stuff. Or really any compilations that don't have metal/electronic/weird on them...?

Thanks heaps!

That was the first Skinny Puppy song I've heard. You're right about it being weird. Some of it reminded me of early Butthole Surfers, I don't know if that comparison is really right though, but that's the vibe I got. The music video is very nightmare-inducing too, pretty cool hahaha...

That Front Line Asserably song is good too. Love the dark sounding vocals on it, they sound anthemic, being set to a good beat.

I need some good thrash metal. I'm listening to Anthrax at the moment, and I enjoy the odd Metallica tune, and I have some Megadeth, but nothing I find very thrashy.

^^Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Urabrella (1979), Merzbild Schwet (1980), To The Quiet Men From A Tiny Girl (1980), Homotopy To Marie (1982)

Basically first three albums and Homotopy To Marie are what I've listened to the most. They (he) have a HUGE discography, but I haven't heard everything yet.

Indeed...I don't know the first two, but Hybrid is progressive breaks and Autechre is IDM/arabient. Better than trance, so I can't complain about where you're steering him. :p:

thanks for the information. Will definitely check out the suggestions.

Another attribute I enjoy in these banRAB is the mood/atmosphere they surround you in. And how you can feel the ups and downs of the particular tune. Then.. that kind of goes back to the "take you on a ride" feel. -just trying to elaborate, no sure if I was misunderstood-.

Thanks again!

Yes please! I only knew If These Trees Could Talk and Sigur Ros (thoug I doubt it's that similar to God is an Astronaut) :tramp:

But another requests stays

You listed some really great stuff despite your Janis Joplin reference.;) Are you looking for just band/artist names that you can download their material to check out, or are you looking for specific CD titles that you want to purchase?
