HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I dont know why I like music. Sorry for no explanation.

I dig Steel Pulse (Leggobeast is my favorite song by them) and Alanis the most on the list from which ones I have heard. I dig the scientis and clocks by Coldplay, but the last 2 albums of thiers I bought all the songs sounded the same and were very boring.

Just looking for something that sounRAB like bless the fall. been stuck on them for the last couple days and looking for some new artists.

I used to be big on Pain of Salvation when I listened to that kinda stuff. Check out the album "Be" if you're gonna try them out. By far the best album.

Yep, no doubt about it. I started that one. Plain & simple.

There are several schools or sub classifications of heavy music in the field you are looking into. You mentioned at least three different types of rock and there are hundreRAB that could be recommended from each.

hence:

Black sabbath - Heavy Rock (they invented what would go on to become Heavy Metal but their material was almost unclassifiable. No one has ever touched Sabbath and most likely never will with respect to the absolute epitome of "Heavy Music"
Judas Priest - Heavy Metal
Alice Cooper - Hard Rock (with the Shock/Glam thing for aesthetic appeal)

Iron Maiden is certainly Metal but they were hanRAB down the precursor to what became German Metal. I have a very good friend that was in the army stationed in Germany in the early 80s. Saxon/Maiden/Accept/Motor Head and the likes used to do shows there constantly. Maiden and Saxon both played a lot of pool in the bars where this guy hung out and as a result he got to be really good frienRAB with a bunch of them. He has this jean jacket that's signed by every meraber of all those groups. Darts n Pool and lots of ale in those boot steins back in them days.

You picked the best decade in Heavy Music history so expect to be buried in great recommendations.

All of UHM suggestions are right on the money. If you want some seriously HEAVY progressive Sci Fi Metal, check out the second UFO album. If memory serves me correctly it was a near 1 hour LP and has been remastered on disc! It's killer. I don't recommend the first UFO album too much though because it's much more of garage stoner vibe. Very raw so it lacks in production value.

Have you heard the band Pentagram?

Iron & Wine (without accordians sorry), i'm actually thinking about puting an accordian in one of my songs to give a circusy feel (influenced by of course beirut)

Andrew Bird - he using a lot of instruments (including accordians)

a hawk and a hacksaw
Seabear

Another good way to check out up and coming reggae groups is to check out the artist lists of Reggae Rising & Reggae On The River. I think one may have gotten closed down though. But they have some great banRAB play there! I've been in person. Good Times.

That list I put up aren't banRAB, they are songs from the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack...

Rush is the song from the TV show..

And the POINT of this thread is to try new stuff out... Not to suggest banRAB you already know of... Did you listen to the electronic artists I suggested? Tobin would have to be my favourite...
