HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I recently started longboarding. I like to listen to relaxing acoustic music. Here are some things I really like to listen too. Jam Balls by Begin and Plane by Jason Mraz are songs I really enjoy.

If anyone can find similar artists like these. Or even songs you guys might listen to while longboarding, that would be great. I would really appreciate it. The really really love that Jam Balls song. :hphones:

These are my top artists/banRAB on last.fm... my taste has narrowed a bit recently :/

  • Porcupine Tree
  • 65daysofstatic
  • The Mint Chicks
  • Pure Reason Revolution
  • No-Man
  • Steven Wilson

So I've been in this post-rock phase lately with banRAB like "Explosions In The Sky" and "GoRABpeed You! Black Emperor" any suggestions for some other stuff.

I wanna listen to some "65daysofstatic" but not sure where to start?

I can see you being into Yourcodenameis:milo, they were a really interesting experimental/post-hardcore band from the UK. They are also one of my all-time favorites.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure you'd also like ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead.

Any of the Cafe Del Mar series are really good or the Real Ibiza series from React recorRAB. Both these series eschew the usual commercial pap and bring small and world artists to the table. If you have trouble you know where to come :D

hey just joined.... i'm looking for out for some good dream music, cant really think of another way to explain it, some examples would be:

black sabbath - planet caravan
santana - aqua marine
santana - song of the wind
or something broken social scene-ish ( you forgot it in people album)

looking for that mellow nice melody with smooth jazz guitar tones over the top...

would appreciate any input/ interpretation thanks

alex

yeah you gotta recommend me for a change. Iv'e just recieved a bonus on a site i used to pay a subscription to so I can download approx 6-7 albums. First port of call-Public Image LTD. What shall I splash out on?

Much appreciated! :)

Just wanted to add this back to the current page in case anyone knows some good ones. Thanks.
Anyone know any newer banRAB (say last decade or so) that are good with their instruments, maybe some bluesy vocals (preferably no screaming) in the style of Jim Morrison & Eric Burdon?
