HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

The Smiths & Portishead I know nothing about. Sad probably, sorry. Ill have to check out what people recommended you.

Tool: Honestly I think you could start anywhere, AEnima, Lateralus or 10,000 Days. Theyre all good!

The Mars Volta: Definitely De-Loused In The Comatorium amazing album!

Even though Bernard Fanning is a part of Powderfinger and they started before the 00's I'd like to suggest this...

Tea & Sympathy
His solo album is amazing and was released in 2005. You should check that out if you didn't know about it. It's folky and very acoustic, great songwriting and I think he sounRAB better here than he does in Powderfinger. You may have already heard 'Wish You Well' as it was huge here in Australia and I think it was big in the UK too. the album has a lot of stand outs but I couldn't find viRAB for all the songs I wanted to post, sorry.

A few tasters:

The etc is as follows;

3 doors down, Arctic Monkeys, Clap your hanRAB say yeah, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Erabrace, MCR, New Young Pony Club, Paramore. That's about it.

I'm mainly into alternative Indie stuff though. They usually sound refreshing and different unlike the usually somewhat genre-standardized music coming from major labels. Which was the reason I posted here.

Damn, I'm having difficulties explaining what I like. IMO, good songs are
-Red Flag (Billy Talent) with its catchy beat and clear vocals
-Coldplay (What if) slow at parts but exudes an engulfing, meaningful feel
-The Killers (Spaceman) refreshing, emotional
-RHCP (Otherside) Bass owns.
-Say Anything (Yellow Cat / Red Cat)

Within the genres mentioned, anything slow, repititive/boring is out.

Hope you are having a clearer idea... :/

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me find some classical songs for a soundtrack project in my class.

First, I need a song about how each person has an important role in life.

I also need a song about unifying leaders, and how people depend on them.

A song about going/being in jail

A song about discovery and/or love

And a song about how nothing's perfect

They don't have to be classics, I just really need to start finding some songs.

Thanks!

I like Foo Fighters... Everlong would be an amazing wedding "first dance" song.

Listen to The Devil Wears Prada. Or Bring Me The Horizon.

The Devil Wears Prada, White Chapel, Bring Me The Horizon, people like that.

i am trying to put a mixed cd together for my husband for xmas but would like songs that he hasnt really heard. what makes it so difficult is that he's a big music buff and i'm not. so if there are any songs you think he'd LOVE please let me know.

Here is what/who he likes:

Antique Toys
Dresden Dolls
The Killers
Radio Head
Muse
Birthday Massacre
9 Crimes from Damien Rice

just to name a few...

That was an interesting listen, thanks for that.

This is my favourite recommendation so far,I have never heard of these but I really like that song. Any idea where I should start with them?

First post so here goes:

I need a song that implies a nuraber in it's title. I have one (The Nuraber of the Beast, Iron Maiden) but I need more. Nurabers in titles like "8765309 Jenny" aren't what I'm looking for and neither is something like "Another One Bites the Dust"

Hoping for Rock songs but anything is good.

Thanks so much in advance,

Hey, couldnt find a specific place to post (i would guess classical?).
Does anyone know of songs similar to the following:
(using youtube as a reference)

Aeris theme - (im guessing by Nobuo?)
youtube: "Tour de Japon - Aerith's Theme"

Clair de lune
youtube: "Debussy-STOKOWSKI 'Clair de Lune'"

Kingdom hearts opening music
youtube: "Kingdom Hearts Music- Hikari Kingdom Orchestra"
love the climactic feel

thanks in advance

I'd like some jazz stuff, maybe fusion, I don't really care. I have too much post-hardcore and indie right now, need to balance it back out. Some big band stuff would be nice too.
