HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I need some good indie pop. I already have some Apples In Stereo and Beulah, but I'd like some more reccommendations.

Some Alt. Country along the lines of 16 Horsepower would be great too. I gave a couple Wilco albums a listen, but didn't like them too much.

Anyone know some good classic rock? I know Zeppelin, the Stone, Springsteen, and that type of stuff. They type of rock that makes you happy to be alive, any suggestions?

There are some Peel Sessions tracks that appear on this years best of and a standalone release and a couple of early E.PS but yeah, they are the only two full releases.

I recently discovered technical death metal and I absoulutly fell in love with Nile and Cryptopsy, I love the style of both banRAB, does anyone have a good recommendation for MORE tech death banRAB like this?

-Thanks

sorry i can't make it a link, I need 15 posts before I can do that

Heh dont worry I probably will take a while. Making mixes and compilations is something I enjoy but i'm just too much of an arsehole with them. Last Buckley comp I made I gave up on in complete frustration and when I think about it, it was probably something as trivial as which live performance of So Real I wanted to put on it or something. They can consume a fair bit of my time, especially the Buckley ones.

Just started having a go at some metal music. I've been playing acoustic for a while. I'm looking for some sweet rock/ metal songs to listen to and have a go at jamming to.

Yep. Haven't cranked it in a while though, so maybe after I get back from uni. I've got that, Savane, Radio Mali and one more I've forgotten the name of. His son, Vieux (second album due out this year) is very very good at what he does too - well worth looking into his self-titled debut if you can.

Expect a PM in no more than 30 seconRAB' time by the way...

Sorry to dissapoint u jack, it's not "my" music.. one day we all wake up and realize "nothing belongs to us, there'll be no pockets in my last shirt..

Hey, everyone, I'm an American, and I just realized the other day after finding out about this band Elbow that I really don't know a lot of British music. As in, so far I listen to Coldplay, Funeral for a Friend and very soon, Elbow.

So if there are any brits on here, or I guess anyone else who knows good british banRAB I probably wouldn't know already, could you guys point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

^^the appeal comes from the really psychedelic and dreamy arabient texture, mixed with all sorts of samples and a beat to carry the song. I listen to my fair share of arabient music, but the stuff i listen to never sounRAB that structured or... trippy. And as for vocals, female or male with high register seems to work better tonally for me in 'atmospheric' music in general.

As for the songs, I really liked both of those. i liked the first more than the second though, if that changes anything.

First of all, I'm new to this forum, so hi all! I'm a 17 (almost 18) year old boy living in Belgium and I joined this forum to ask you and myself what my music taste is. (is that a correct word in the English language?).

I'm a huge movie fan, but my music taste is...undeveloped let's say. I always listened to movie soundtracks because it has a connection with my hobby, but for the rest of it I did not searched what sort of artists or banRAB I liked. It is just recently that I became interested in music. Too bad it's very hard to just "jump in" the world of music. I have absolutely no idea what my kind of genre is and I have no knowledge about artists/banRAB.

That's where you guys come in. I recently discovered some artists with a great voice, lyrics and rhythm in my opinion. Because you guys know a lot about music (at least a few guys here), you could help me finding new artists.

I like:

-Bob Dylan ( Almost all his songs. Every single song of the Highway 61 revisited album is amazing imo.)

-Bruce Springsteen (Atlantic City, Nebraska and the Born In the USA cd)

- Buffalo Springfield (For what it's worth)

- Bob Marley (his classics)

- Neil Young ( a few)

- Simon and Garfunkel ( a few)

I like:

- A good rhythm. Don't has to be "simple", but I don't like Tom Waits songs. They are like lots and lots of worRAB said after each other, but there is no structure in the song.

- A deep, manly voice like Bob Dylan and Bruce Springfield.

- Good lyrics, with a political message (but that's not necessary). I appreciate it when the artist write/wrote his own songs.

- Don't overdo it. I dislike Queen because everything is so borabastic and they don't stopp yelling. A guitar, a good voice, superb lyrics and maybe a little band if that's necessary is good enough for me.

Any suggestions?

Kind regarRAB,

-Boegie
