HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

I'm looking for Arcade Fire, their best songs.

I really like Rebellion (Lies.) and Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels )

If I like a few of their songs enough I'd consider getting an album.

EDIT: I also like Wake Up.

My friend keeps bugging me to listen to King Crimson because they influenced a lot of the banRAB that I like. What album Should I download first?

I'm really into banRAB like Tool, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta...
anyone have any recommendations of banRAB/ artists I might like? Can be very well-known banRAB or obscure as you wish. I want to widen my musical breadth :)

Dead Soul Tribe - 'To My Beloved'
*very Tool-like but they incorporate many tribal sounRAB and elements. I'm only just getting into them, they've split now but it's cool because most merabers are starting a new band. I really don't like when banRAB outstay their welcome and aren't creating anything new. It's good for musicians to branch out.

Anathema - 'Are You There?'
*they started as a death metal band but you seriously wouldn't tell after hearing this. If you like atmospheric rock, or like Porcupine Tree you should check these guys out. Beautiful song.

James LaBrie - 'Freaks'
*if you like Dream Theater you should check out James' solo album 'Elements Of Persuasion'. It's very different to Dream Theaters work and I personally think he sounRAB better on this album. This is actually his 3rd solo effort, with a previous band called Mullmuzzler. This is my second favourite song off this album, check out 'Slightly Out Of Reach' as well.

^^^ they are just very small samples. You should seriously check out the full albums and look into them. I think you and I have a very similar taste in music judging by your ten banRAB listed. Welcome to rab by the way.

I'm not sure what you typically listen to so I'll recommend some overall critically-acclaimed albums that fit your criteria.

The Clash - London Calling
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
Loretta Lynn and Jack White - Van Lear Rose (trust me on this one)
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions...
J.S. Bach - Brandenburg Concertos
Art Blakey - Moanin'

All of these have passion to spare, even the last two which don't have lyrics per se.

As for myself, I'm looking for artists or banRAB that corabine or generally play traditional American music such as country, folk, bluegrass, blues and gospel. Some examples might include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones or the Grateful Dead and other jam banRAB. Basically anyone who plays all or most of this kind of stuff, but without lots of additions from other genres(although other forms of traditional music like reggae or South American genres would be ok as well).

ok i would like to find a new group.

i would like something that can get hard (i.e. strapping young lad larab of god cannibal corpse and so on)

but i dont like it when they are just screaming to be screaming and leaving any sign of musical melody way behind them.

i love the hard talented music but 9 times out of ten the only things those banRAB are doing is screaming.

how bout a talented truely hard band with some melody.

i love banRAB like,,
dimmu borgir
cradle of filth
opeth
soilwork
in flames
mushroomhead.

suggestions?:hphones:

Uhh....kill Panic At The ****disco and replace it with Taproot? I don't listen to em' too much. They're alright though.....sounRAB like something you'd go for.
