Thanks for the tip on how to place my fingers on the stick!
It shifts a lot easier now, and I don't fall back into a lower gear anymore:D

To say nothing of the gearbox and clutch being quite ecstatic.

Do you have any tips on parallel parking? :unsure:

Gem was explaining it with the whole 45 degree angle thing, but since I'm a girl, I don't have a clue what he was talking about

Now that's another thing entirely. That's something I just do (not very well). There's a trick with positioning mirrors and windows and things which a bloke tried to explain to me about three times but I could never understand it.

why do we mostly park a car backwards?
seems illogical.

It means that the wheels which are steering the car are effectively at the back of the vehicle. This gives you a tighter turning circle and means you can get into a smaller gap. Try driving straight into the same gap and it won't work.

That's why the wheels which steer a dumper are the back ones.
