I know you guys probably get stupid annoying questions like this all the time. I know how it feels in the Tennis business. Anyway:

Any design - flip, slide who cares really
Not too feminine though
Bluetooth
Easy to text and friendly user interface
Moderately comfortable talking design, though I spend more time texting
1.3 MP Camera or more

PRICE* - 250 Dollars maximum! Anything over this and I will be wasting my money. I've searched for all the specs, but it's hard to track down which ones are comfortable for texting and just general use.

So far I've been interested in :

Samsung D520
Nokia 3230 (I think? 2 MP camera?)
Sony Ericsson Z800

samsung d600 is a great choice. its available for around 230 if you shop around. the sony ericsson walkman w810i is a great alternative to the samsung also. and its cheaper too, at 99.99 with a 2 year plan through cingular.

Thanks. I'll look into both. I also saw a Sony Ericsson z550i today. Looked like it had some good features but was really cheap. Is this a bad sign?

The LG VX-9900 enV is a good phone for you- It has a QVCA screen (really big), full QUERTY keyboard for texting, and a 2 MP camera, among countless other features.

Go to www.verizonwireless.com to check it out.

Just to confuse you guys more, I'm in Australia. By carrier I'm guessing you mean Virgin, Vodafone, Optus etc. I'm with Virgin and will probably buy it outright from a store or off eBay so I can keep my number.

I'm still unsure ATM. Just using my Nokia 6600 makes me love it, if only it had a better camera. So far my "look into" list is:

LG EnV - unsure on price ATM
Samsung D520 - 300 AUD
Sony Ericsson z550i - only 200 AUD

Yeah, just checked out the internet and doesn't look like that LG thing isn't too big over here. It looks really big funny because I have a 6600), and I'm not sure if I'm that into the whole QWERTY keyboard.

Try looking for a Sharp 770SH (SX633). If you can't find that, then go for the 703SH/f. You might not find either to be comfortable for you, though, depending on the type of person you are.

note- there's actually no slash in 703SHf. I used that to differentiate the 703SH from the 703SHf since both are extremely similar (except that the SHf lacks Chinese input). I found a couple of 703Shf's on eBay right now selling out of Brisbane- http://search.ebay.com.au/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10&satitle=703SHf&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=Postcode&ga10244=10425&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search for the results.

I know its not on your list but I think the Nokia N80 or N73 are both great for texting, nice big screens, good size keypad and best of all you can store all your messages on your memory card without this feature my phone would be constantly connected to PC suite trying to backup my messages and delete the old ones... My contract offers me 3000 free sms a month and I go over that every month, lol

My preferences for a Top Texting Phone.
Lots of Memory
Nice big Screen
Good Keypad
Does not delete the message press cancel by accident *

* Had this problem with some Non Nokia phones, accidently press cancel or answer a call after writting a long sms and I loose my whole text

Bit too far out of my price range. $719 AUD Buy It Now on eBay. When I'm looking at the buy it now thing's I usually only go up to $250 AUD.

How about the e370? I found one for a very genorous price. I may sit on the whole choice for the minute though, I just bought a housing for my 6600 because that is the main thing wrong with the quality of it.

Its a 1.3 M camera I think on that, not sure how many texts it holds probably the same as the D500, I dont really like Samsung slide phones for texting, find it more awkward and one push on the slide and the message is either gone or lost in Drafts somewhere... If your happy with the 6600 this is a good smart phone, I would just stick to that till something like the N series are cheaper
