Now the battery went flat and when i recharged it ....put it back in....it wont start...i turn the key and absolutly nothing happens...no lights no nothing. any clues?

Check the connection once again. Firmly attach the terminals. Check for correct connection polarity [+ -] of the battery and the wire, then finally check for a blown off fuse.
