hey I have a 2007 dodge charger, last nite my engine malfunction light came...

...on, so i tightened the gas cap,? could this have caused the light to come on, cus today the light is off
 
yes most likely thats what it is!but with mopar cars if you leave the car running while getting gas it will turn on just make sure you turn your car off
 
It could be. That's one of the things that will cause the engine light to come on. On my van, a ford Econoline E-150, ,an error like this will not go away until the engine has gone through 17 starting cycles, which makes it harder to pinpoint.
