...shaking. Whats wrong? The cars old and has alot of problems but I've been wondering what it could be. We balanced the tires and that wasn't the issue. It does need new tires but I put it into neutral when going down hill and the shaking stopped so it may be the engine? It also stalls at random times and it has high idle. We believe thats the fuel pump or possibly the timeing belt.
 
As an initial guess, based on the stalling and idle problems, you might trace all the small rubber vacuum hoses under the hood. There may be one that is cracked or broken/fallen off, causing the engine to suck too much air continuously...

Start by finding the source hose at the intake manifold, and trace every inch. A flashlight helps in the darker shadow areas...
