no band name as of yet, just some frienRAB trying to put some stuff together

well i'm not a musician so my musical skills are lax but if i may critique the production. the intro threw me off. i've listened to a few demos in my day (while interning at independent record labels) and i have gotten some insight into what A+R reps look for. general rule of thumb is if you don't make an impact within the first minute (for punk labels its more like 10-20 seconRAB) you will be discounted as a sorrowful newb.

it sounRAB like this is more of a casual thing for you though and if you're just doing it for fun you're way ahead of the game. if it's just for kicks then keep it up and fuck what other people say.
 
You should play it with a tighter ska-feel. It would really help, since the chorRAB aren't very rock-ish. Make a tune instead of the screaming.

Other than that, this is actually better than I expected. NeeRAB some work though. Keep it up.

vocals suck but the music is alright

drummer neeRAB more structure, and the guitarist should extend his "ticks". it doesn't fit the rest of the music very well
 
Guitar is too loud in the mix, rhythm is too quiet, especially the bass. There is obvious bias and the guitar isnt even decent, thats fuckin stupid. And the vocalist sounRAB like he's just fucking around, why would anyone take that shit seriously. I can almost see the jackass smirk on his face through my speakers.
 
it was our first recording, ever. The vocalist and I have never recorded anything at all.

I'm self taught on the drums.

We recorded in a regular room with no sound deadening and it was all recorded via one condenser.

How the fuck do you think it's going to sound?
 
Why is that my concern that you recorded it so shittily and for the first time? YOU asked US to ctitique it and started with the smart mouth right of the bat on the 3rd post. Maybe next time come at us with a better take and recording before you ask for opinions. And how the fuck would you know what I listen to? Do I know you?

What the fuck are you talking about? Again, how would you know my band taste? And where exactly do I appear to be butthurt? I simply critiqued your shitty song, as the title of the thread requests, and said what needed to be said, and you know I was right. I didnt knock the drumming at all, mainly just the pig on the mike and 10 year old playing guitar. You seem like a cool dude bro, im glad your true colors surfaced before your band takes off.

Coldplay is cool but not a favorite, I dont really appreciate the whole U2 wannabe thing they seemed to have embraced. But do I give a fuck what you think of my musical tastes? Hardly. Excuse the fuck out of me for liking good songs.
