Hey y'all. (Got to love Georgia) But seriously, I wrote this poem in a moment of dramaticness and I know exactly what I think it means, but can you guys tell me what you see in it, any comments, and over-all help with editing? Thanks!
The Safety Net
The safety net far below
Catching and never letting go.
Many fall into his arms
Only to leave them unharmed.
Soon, though, they dance again
Wishing the net need not have been.
For they, many having been saved,
Hate the hero that let them be raised.
Yet a lone net can only bear so much
Before the weight begins to crush.
At last one becomes the final fall
And he is separated from his wall.
For the net had to tear
The burdens were simply too much to bear.
The net hits the ground
His limits having been found.
Our hidden hero is gone
His enemy has finally won.
Too late comes a striking concept:
Just who saves the safety net?
Thanks!
